I have had a passion for AV technology since childhood.  I remember my bedroom at the age of 9 was a Frankenstein setup of amps with exposed PCBs, random speakers and a spaghetti junction of wires which my mother worried was a fire hazard, she was probably right but don't tell her that.  

My introduction to home cinema was a 5.1ch system setup which dad bought home one day.  It was a Pioneer Dolby Pro-logic Sound System which sounded pretty awesome in the early nineties, especially when Startrek's Starship Enterprise would shoot from the front of the room to the rear in the early days of Nicam on TV3.  Back then it was such a buzz seeing friends' reactions, I was only 11 or 12 then, but even today my favourite part of my job is seeing clients react when commissioning systems, whether it is a 2ch standalone music system, a multiroom system or home cinema, (these days of course utilizing a lot more channels thanks to Dolby Atmos!) it is the best feeling a system designer and installer can have, completing a system for a happy customer.

I have been working on high quality custom audio visual installations since 2004 and started AV Installations Ltd in 2006.  In 2016 a good friend, Kelly Wood, an integral person for pushing me to go out on the tools initially gave me an opportunity I couldn't ignore, hence I acquired Kelly Wood Automation Ltd which shifted the company focus on to automated homes, bringing our integrated installations to the next level.  We are now responsible for a large amount of Christchurch's most prestigious integrated homes, with over 200 Control4 jobs under our belt, we have the skills and speed required to be able to provide rapid deployment and integration making the final cost more economical.  With the addition of a retail showroom in 2017 near home on the beach at New Brighton, New Brighton TV & HiFi was born and become the primary brand.  In 2024 the company moved away from New Brighton to a larger premise in the centre of Christchurch which prompted a name change to New Zealand TV & HiFi Limited which has given a great boost to our retail division.

Now with over 18 years of procuring access to world leading HiFi brands we can offer products and solutions only available through licensed dealers.  It has become our primary focus to provide the best quality products with the longest lifespan and product support, this benefits us as a service provider and protects our customers investment.

The best thing about my job is that it's not just a job, it's my passion.  I have had the privilege of having the same clients for over 20years, and it is amazing being able to provide entertainment and tech solutions for all stages of life, from family orientated fully integrated automated homes to downsizing to dedicated music and entertainment systems.
