DCD-50 CD Player/Transport
Introducing the new Denon Design Series. Real Hi-Fi for today’s lifestyles. The ideal companion to our PMA-50 full digital stereo amplifier, the DCD-50 features a high quality disc drive that plays music CDs as well as data discs with MP3 and WMA tracks. Styled identically to the PMA-50, the DCD-50 features an elegant compact chassis that can be operated when placed horizontally or vertically. The Clear View OLED display features automatic display orientation that detects if the DCD-50 is placed vertically or horizontally and adjusts the display accordingly. The convenient slot loading mechanism dispenses with the usual disc tray, and allows for vertical and horizontal placement. For optimum audio quality with the PMA-50, the DCD-50 is equipped with a coaxial digital audio output - for an easy setup the required digital audio coax cable is included.. For connection to other audio components, the DCD-50 incorporates a high resolution 32-bit/192-kHz D/A conversion system and stereo analog outputs.
Perfect Match with PMA-50
Featuring the same high quality styling and finish, the DCD-50 is the perfect partner for the PMA-50 digital integrated amplifier. The compact chassis features deluxe finishes including soft aluminum matte with bright silver tone accents and glossy and matte black surfaces.
Vertical or Horizontal Placement
When desktop or shelf space is at a premium, the DCD-50 can be vertically positioned alongside or above the PMA-50. The 4 feet are easily removable by hand, and the chassis side features caps covering 4 screw holes. Simply remove the existing caps and screw in the feet. Then, put the supplied 4 silver caps into the original bottom screw holes and you are all set.
Clear View OLED Display with Dimmer
The OLED display shows the CD's total tracks and total time, as well as the track number and track time, and the song title, artist name and album name (depending on the disc), along with icons for random mode, repeat 1 and repeat all modes, and a folder icon for data discs.
Selectable Auto PlayAutomatic Standby Option
You also have the ability to activate the Auto Standby function, which will automatically put the DCD-50 in standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity, saving energy and the environment.
Ergonomic Remote Control
The supplied remote control features an ergonomically-designed layout that includes a cursor keypad, number keypad and dedicated function buttons such as random, repeat, info and program. You can control both DCD-50 and PMA-50 with a supplied single remote.
Versatile Disc Playback
The DCD-50 plays music CDs and can also play data CDs, including CD-R and CD-RW discs with MP3 and WAV audio tracks.
The display automatically rotates to match the installation orientation.
The dimmer function features 3 levels of display brightness, adjustable via the remote control. When paired with the PMA-50, you can adjust the display brightness of both units at the same time.
High Resolution D/A Conversion
For connection to other audio components that do not have a digital coaxial input, the DCD-50 features a high quality D/A conversion block with 32-bit/192-kHz D/A converter that delivers wide dynamic range, along with extremely low noise and distortion.

"You can definitely buy other amplifiers for the same money able to do as much as the Denon PMA-50. However, they won't do it with such style, while taking up as little space, thanks to its clever design and ability to sit on end and reduce its already minimal footprint. The matching CD player is a compelling accessory, if more convincing as a transport than as a player. The amp, however, is the star of this show."
